The Good War
N/A Based on a true story, THE GOOD WAR explores the untold tale of a World War II prisoner`s experiences. Luca Zingaretti stars as Luigi Manin, one of 50,000 Italian Prisoners of War detained at internment camps in the U.S. It is the last days of the war, and Luigi Manin is one of many still being held by the Herfeford Interment Camp in Texas. Roy Schneider (JAWS, THE RAINMAKER) stars as colonel Gartner, the commander of the camp. Manin makes several failed attempts to escape, but is always caught within a matter of days. Things take a turn for the worse when Manin is brought back from his most recent escape by a patrol force, only to realize that the camp has been evacuated in his absence. Gartner is forced to keep Manin at the camp until another patrol force can come pick him up. However, no one ever comes. The phone lines get cut, and the two men realize they are completely isolated from the outside world. It is up to each man to endure or escape the camp and one another.
