A high-spirited tale of a rebellious teenage girl in 1950s Britian who energetically flouts the repressive sexual mores of her working-class seaside town. 16-year-old Lynda enjoys shocking her neighbors with her foul mouth and lascivious behavior, but underneath her flamboyantly cheeky facade is a lonely girl still suffering from the loss of her mother at an early age. No one in the town understands Lynda`s desperate need to challenge conventions -- least of all Lynda`s widowed dad. When Lynda`s reckless sexual adventures lead her into a dangerous relationship with an unsavory older man, her father is powerless to stop her.
