Set during the fall of 1944, when World War II was still raging, SILENCIO ROTO tells the tragic tale of a young woman who experiences all too painfully the horrors of war. Lucia (Lucia Jimenez) is a bright 21-year-old who returns to the small mountain village in Spain to reunite with her parents. Once there, she falls in love with the blacksmith Manuel (Juan Diego Botto). But when Manuel leaves the village to join a band of guerrillas who oppose the fascist Franco supporters, Lucia must face the sad truth, that war is bigger than love.
