Burt Lancaster stars as Cross, a US intelligence veteran whose CIA chief McLeod (John Colicos) has marked him for termination. On the run from the assassin, the old spy takes refuge with his Soviet counterpart--a retired KGB operative, Zharkov (Paul Scofield). That action only makes matters worse, however, by confirming the chief`s suspicions that Cross is betraying America and working with the Russians. Together with Zharkov, Cross must outwit the assassin and clear his name.
SCORPIO is a highly underrated spy classic. Directed by Michael Winner (DEATH WISH, THE MECHANIC), it features a plethora of high speed chases, machine gun show downs, and plummeting exploded objects.
