OUT CALIFORNIA WAY provides satisfying western action in its film within a film. Monte Hale (Monte Hale), his sister Gloria (Lorna Gray, under the name Adrian Booth), and his friend Danny (BARETTA`S Robert Blake, under the name Bobby Blake), along with his horse Pardner, want to break into the Western movie business. They arrive at a set, where Pardner gets notice with his tricks and Monte gets to sing a few songs. After being cast as a singing cowboy, Monte thinks his career is on its way--but star George Sheridan (John Dehner) has other plans. Sheridan`s jealousy of his new rival gets the better of him, and he creates a diversion sure to disrupt Monte and Pardner`s roles. Notably, this Republic Studios film features appearances by Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and Trigger, as well as RED RYDER actor Donald Barry and the voice of MR. ED, Allan Lane.
