Glen Ballard, best known as a music producer for the likes of Alanis Morissette and Aerosmith, wrote this gritty film about a number of young musicians struggling to make it in Los Angeles. Newcomer Jimmy Tuckett shines as the lead singer of a rock group whose path to success is obscured by uncaring club owners, drugs, jealousy, and lots of groupies. Lori Petty is equally as impressive as the band`s resident troublemaker, ingesting drugs and swilling booze so prodigiously that she seems bent on getting the most out of her stint in a rock band.
