All Elisa wants to do is make enough money to open her own hair salon and support her two children in her Uraguayan town. Wishing to change her life, she moves out of her parents` house and breaks up with her boyfriend, who will not marry her. She loses her job, and a friend attempts to help her out by getting her a job at the local brothel. Before she knows it, she is in Barcelona and is even further entrenched in the sex trade, without a way to get back home. Even after falling in love once again and getting involved in transvestite gang wars, Elisa still holds tight to her dreams of opening her own salon.
